I want to jump in right away with news about Ami. Yesterday we had an appointment at the rehab hospital for an evaluation after a two month absence. The staff at the hospital have become like family - especially the Occupational Therapist, Olly. She is originally of German descent, and is the most experienced in the department, very capable, and very experienced in scar care. She is also very compassionate, and her love for Ami is evident. She has been extremely impressed by the rapidity of his healing and the scar's reaction to the pressure suit and silicone strips that we put under the suit on his skin grafts. He had a skin graft behind the ankle on his left leg. She said that she has never, in all her years, seen the healing of a graft the way that Ami's is healing. It was thick and very ugly, but it is absolutely flat right now, and even though dark, it is beginning to disappear and become regular skin. The other graft areas are more challenging. The graft on his left inner thigh is very irregular looking. Muscle and all of the skin were blown away by the bomb, and the area was indented. However, with all of Ami's exercise and basketball, the muscle is built up again, but the graft still looks very far from normal skin. He also has a graft on his stomach, and although it has healed tremendously, there is a big rough area that we are told will not heal, but will have to be covered by plastic surgery. Could we pray that his scars will continue to be miraculously healed? But the greatest news was that the scars on his legs seem like they are no longer active. Olly photographed his legs and she said that when we return in 3 weeks, if there hasn't been a change, or if they look better, then HE WILL NO LONGER HAVE TO WEAR THE PANTS OF THE PRESSURE SUIT!!! After only 7 months as opposed to 1 ½ to 2 years which is what we were originally told!! Is our God too great for words??? Can I ever express my thanks for your faithful prayer which has moved the hand of God to heal in this mighty way???? When we entered the Occupational Therapy room, a doctor from the team of hand surgeons who operated on Ami's nerves in his arm, "just happened" to be there by grand design. She also checked Ami's hands, made some suggestions and said they would be following up as well!! Many prayers were answered within a few minutes yesterday! This Hand specialist said that he needs to exercise the pinkies of both his hands, which he is doing. So Ami will come once every 3 weeks to the hospital for scar care and follow up on his hands. Ami was also checked by the head of the whole department, Dr. Brezner. He has been very supportive of Ami during this whole rehabilitation season, and gives us whatever we ask for!! He also fought on Ami's side when he wanted to stop the heavy medication he was on for preventing flashbacks, nightmares, and anxiety. The staff wanted him to keep on taking it, but he vetoed them all and told Ami - you don't want to take it?? You don't have to. Period. And of course Ami was fine. Ami is still struggling with some discouragement, I think mostly because he is still in pain in his left hand. The pain seems to have gotten a little worse, and it's hands down (no pun intended) the hardest thing that he deals with, but it is evident that the Lord is fashioning something in our family in the way that only He can do. We can't see what the final outcome will be, but we know it will be beautiful. PERSONAL TESTIMONY FROM GAZA A friend whose son was serving in Gaza wrote this interesting note when her son, whom we all had been praying for continuously, and who is a committed believer, came back out. He had a "calm" time, but was in danger and said it was exactly right when I told others that the main dangers were sniper fire, anti-tank missle fire, boobi-traps, and friendly fire.He also said that kidnapping was a real fear and danger.They were very diligent about not getting kidnapped!He went from house to house with troops looking for weapons etc.and found them. Among discoveries was a tunnel with the opening under a kitchen sink and a recessed grad launcher in an orchard (par-des). In other words it was so well hidden there's no way you would detect it from air reconnaissance. Also, they were surprised to see that it was equipped with a timer. This means that there's no action of the person or persons "escaping" after the launch, which usually a tip-off to anyone watching for a specialized movement from the Israeli side. He apparently was in a wealthy section of the strip (north coast) as he said the houses were huge and some with swimming pools and lots of dollars in them. They were not allowed to take the money, or eat the food, or mess up stuff. this is called having limits. He also was surprised to see lots of Israeli products in the kitchens. He saw a mosque being blown up because of being full of weapons.I asked him what it looked like, he said it was like in the movies. When I asked my friend if I could share the above, she asked me to add that they are all disappointed that the war seems to have ended without the release Gilad Shalit, an Israeli soldier who was kidnapped by Hamas almost 3 years ago. MORE PRAYER REQUESTS I've been asked by several people how to pray for Israel at this time, and for us - and I wanted to share that with you as well........ During the war there was a huge sweep of the soldiers praying before they went into Gaza. They were putting on tefillin and crowding the tents that were set up for prayer - Please pray that this hunger will continue and that they will open their hearts so Yeshua can be revealed. Jewish people have an immediate reaction to Yeshua, "He's not for Jews". Please pray that this stronghold will come down. Some of the largest reserves of natural gas of the highest quality were found off the coast of Haifa - this will significantly change the economic climate here in Israel, to that of more prosperity as we are not going to be dependent on world markets . This will also probably draw Russia's armies to try to overrun and destroy Israel, however. This will take place when the day comes that Israel will be dwelling in safety - Eze. 38 and 39. (If you haven't read Epicenter by Joel Rosenberg, I recommend it, regarding the above. It will help you to pray with understanding for Israel.) Please pray for revival for the youth of this nation, the new generation. Please pray for those who have grown up in Messianic homes, to love and study the Word, and to be raised up in their own faith, and not just the faith of their parents. Please pray for the unsaved youth to be saved. I've asking the Lord to send dreams to this nation in the same way the Muslims have been getting saved through dreams, visions and appearances. I k now that it's not the same, as we have more freedom in a way to witness (even though we have heavy persecution when we do), but it's not government policy exactly - we just have no protection from our government. But please pray for an outpouring of conviction of sin - and a hunger for truth on the whole country but especially the youth. This leads me to the next request- for the upcoming elections here in a few weeks for Prime Minister - for there to be a strong government that has clear lines of right and wrong, and whose ears will be open to the Lord and His Word. Please pray for leaders to have the strength to stand against the pressure of the world to give up land for peace. Please pray for an uncovering of whatever is being covered up in the police investigation of our case. Please pray for the salvation of those who did this horrible deed to our family. Please pray for our family as we're recovering from trauma. Each one has reacted differently, without going into detail. We had a group of 40 Danish intercessors here in Ariel for two days and we had a powerful meeting with them and the believers from Ariel and surrounding areas. They had a word for us, that we needed to begin to leave the incident in the past and go on to a glorious future. I know that is correct. THANKS FOR.........
