Citizens Near Gaza Endure 8 Years of "Code Red" Alert
"TZEVA ADOM! TZEVA ADOM!" (Code Red! Code Red!) The air raid siren screams. You have 15 seconds to grab your children and seek shelter before the rockets fall from the sky! Day and night, for 8 years. This is the reality for those living near the Gaza Strip. Kibbutz Nir Am is one such community bordering Gaza. Its 330 members endured 800 falling rockets in the past three years! Our last outreach to the people of Nir Am; the building of a rocket-secure community-center was an incredible success. I was honored to attend the dedication and additionally had the opportunity to witness to a top Kibbutz elder.
