| VFI - Urgent News From Israel Barry & Batya Segal 13 Jan 2009 | | Monday – 12 Jan 2009 Dear Friends,
Every day, rockets and mortars are falling on Israeli cities and towns in the south, striking homes, apartments, schools, cars, stores, office buildings, and open fields of agriculture. Sometimes, as many as 25-75 rockets and mortars have fallen in a day. People don't generally hear about this in the news because of the faces of those suffering from the Israeli military response in Gaza.
The reality of life here is that, for over 750,000 citizens of southern Israel, life has become a nightmare with a daily routine of running to bomb shelters or to any cover possible. | Your Gift Will Save Lives Today! With your best gift today, you will help Vision for Israel rush emergency hospital supplies to the frontlines and save the lives of suffering men, women, and children! |

| Whatever you are doing – cooking, writing, taking a shower, helping occupy your child's time off from school, just taking a nap, visiting relatives to comfort them, eating, shopping, anything of normal activity – is suddenly disrupted and maybe, just maybe, you will have 15-30 seconds to take cover from an incoming missile.
You can be young or old – an adult or a baby – but the falling rockets do not discriminate between their targets, whether Jewish or Arab. Unlike Israeli forces that have dropped tens of thousands of leaflets to warn Gaza residents to distance themselves from Hamas terrorists, these missiles do great devastation to human life, both in terms of those killed and wounded, as well as collateral damage and emotional injury.
Since 2003, about 10,000 rockets and mortars have been fired from the Gaza Strip against Israel, most of them after Israel pulled out its 9,000 residents (settlers) of the Gaza Strip in 2005. Over 1,000 Israelis have been wounded or killed. For more information and statistics, please go to the information site of Vision for Israel at: www.jnnnews.com.
Every day, we hear of another miraculous escape from a rocket. Someone sitting in another part of their apartment, just reaching a shelter, missing it by seconds or minutes ... stories like these take place every day and every hour. Why should we be surprised?
As the nations seek a way out of this war, we at Vision for Israel are on the frontlines to be a support through our Joseph Storehouse humanitarian outreach, helping everyone we can regardless of their religious beliefs or skin color. People are people, and we are a work of God's love and compassion. The day may come soon where we can enter Gaza again to help its residents who have also suffered there under the tyranny of Hamas terrorism and their control.
Pray with us for the peace of the Lord to enter the homes of the innocents who have suffered greatly.

Prayer for Israel May we suggest the following issues for prayer today:
- For the collapse of all the communications network of Hamas, from TV, radio, walkie-talkies to mobile phones to the Internet.
- For Israel to overtake the tunnel network and destroy it.
- For the stoppage of additional ammunition, weapons, and missiles getting through to Hamas.
- For protection of the Israeli soldiers – against death, injury, and kidnapping. Along with this, may the truly innocent Gaza Arabs get out of harm's way and find shelter.
- For the elimination of the hardcore Hamas leadership, both military and political.
- For our son to have strength, discernment, and power to stand and fight against whatever he is facing. He has had little sleep and he has to overcome many emotional issues.
- For our family to stand without fear and anxiety, and to have confidence in the Lord.
- For the nations and their leaders to have a better understanding to read the situation according to a biblical perspective.
- For better public relations for Israel, and the exposure of the lies and the evil coming out of Hamas and all the Islamic terrorist groups.
- Destruction of Iranian infrastructure for smuggling weapons to Gaza and Lebanon.
We pray every day ... "Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power and the glory, the victory and the majesty; for all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and You are exalted as head over all." (1 Chronicles 29:11)
Join us in this prayer for our son and the rest of the IDF soldiers. Thank you.
In His Service,
May Yeshua bless you and keep you, our friends,
